A video of a drunk woman shouting expletives and slapping a policeman inside a police station had set the social media ablaze. A 20-year-old girl named Gauri Bhide and three others were taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol in Worli, Mumbai and after the arrest Gauri created a chaos in the police station.
The incident occurred on 15th June but it’s video footage surg]faced online two days back and has gone viral since then. Among the four accused, there was one too minor who has been sent to a juvenile home in Dongri. The police has arrested all the other three accused.
According to reports, a highly intoxicated Bhide bumped her blue Vern into a divider before diverging onto a pavement, heading from Worli sea face towards Dr. Annie Besant Road. She was taken to the police station where she slapped a police officer and apart from that tried to vandalize the police property with the other accused.
The video, which went viral last night, clearly shows how inebriated Gauri Slapped the officer and abused him in full view. While one of the boys accompanying her took hold of her while she went out of control.
She was finally brought under control by 4 police officers, but not before she managed to throw and break things around her.
In just 10 minutes, she broke a windowpane, pulled wires out of a computer and threw the computer on the ground and smashed several cops’ phones and threw them. A police officer who tried to shoot the video of her actions also had to face her ire when she tried to slap him too.
They were charged under Sections 279, 332, 353, 427 and 34 of the IPC and held in police custody for a night.
“She ransacked the whole police station and hit our cops. We got their custody for a day, after which they were released on bail. We are making a tight case against the accused,” said Senior Police Inspector Vinay Kulkarni from the Worli police station.
